Community, Cotton Candy, and Next Steps: A Yard Campaign Update

We’ve had a big couple of weeks in the Brock Schoolyard Revitalization campaign. We’re so excited to share the energy and momentum that’s building!

BBQ Bash – May 29

Our spring BBQ event was a huge success. With a bouncy castle, hot dogs and tacos, book exchange, cotton candy, and temporary tattoos, Brock families had a chance to connect. People came together to celebrate the end of the year and learn more about our plans for revitalizing the schoolyard. We also raised a significant contribution to the Yard Revitalization fund: over $3400!

We unveiled our new vinyl campaign sign. It’s a colourful reminder of what we’re working toward. We also set up an information table where we connected with many of you about the goals and vision for the new yard. Thank you to everyone who stopped by, asked questions, and shared your enthusiasm. Events like this remind us why we’re doing this: to create a space that reflects the energy, creativity, and inclusivity of our community.

School Council Meeting – June 9

At our June 9 School Council meeting, we took a closer look at the road ahead for the revitalization campaign. We discussed:

  • Strategies to reach our $125,000 fundraising goal
  • Applying for grants and sponsorships
  • Reaching out to local businesses and major donors
  • Planning community events and outreach
  • Keeping the campaign visible and active through the summer

We’re building real momentum — and we need your help to keep it going! Please let us know if you can:

  • Volunteer a few hours of your time
  • Connect us with a potential sponsor
  • Spread the word. Please share this site with your friends, families and social networks.

Every contribution will make an impact!

Stay tuned for more updates. Together, we’re building something great.
